Leader in Aerospace seeking a Optical Engineer

This position is part of the EO/IR Mission Systems team within CaST. The focus of this team is to design cutting edge sensor systems, and the key technologies that enable those systems

Systems range from airborne EO/IR systems to space payloads. The team is focused on providing complete solutions, including systems engineering, optics design, algorithms, software development, firmware development, and electronics. As part of BR&T, the primary focus is on prototype systems and demonstrations, so we're looking for people who like to try new things, and aren't afraid of a challenge!

We are seeking optical engineers with experience in the development of high-level and detailed designs of optical sensors to help design and test prototype EO/IR sensor systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develops and validates requirements for EO/IR systems and components.
• Preforms modeling and simulation of optical systems and components to align with requirements.
• Leads development of trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around complex requirements.
• Supports with Assembly, Integration & Test of prototype systems.
• Plans and leads research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
• Experience working on EO/IR systems
• Experience with the design and modeling & simulation of EO/IR Sensing Systems
• Experience with Integration and Test of EO/IR Sensing Systems
• Experience working in Research and Development or prototype systems
