This role supports Research and Development (R&D) and production programs within Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Defense, Space, and Security, and Boeing Global Services. We are seeking either an Associate, Mid-Level or Senior Engineer to join our team in Huntington Beach, California.Position Responsibilities:

Evaluating, optimizing and implementing new ceramic, hot structure, and thermal protection system technologies for potential application to business needs

Supporting the manufacture of development and production hardware both in-house and at suppliers

Performing tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to established requirements

Regularly communicating with internal stakeholders to coordinate and resolve programmatic and technical problems that would affect cost, schedule and performance

Conducting analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Experience in ceramics, hot structure, or thermal protection systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

3+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

A Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following core engineering or applied science disciplines: Materials Science, Ceramic, Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, or Manufacturing.

Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research or engineering internships, or prior work experience.

Active US Secret Clearance or higher

Typical Education/Experience:Associate (Level 2):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Mid-Level (Level 3):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Senior (Level 4):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
