Fun loving family looking to replace our nanny after 10 years. We are a family with special needs children and 2 of those children have nurses and attend school so you would not be responsible for them except for a very brief time at the beginning or end of the nurses shift, however they are very well behaved and high functioning but need supervision and some assistance with ADL's on occasion. We have one child who is non-ambulatory and medically involved who remains in the home and we need someone who is willing to learn to take care of him (he is like a 6 month old) he is cute and sweet without any behavioral issues and loves his favorite shows. We need someone willing to learn to watch him, so mom can run errands, go to the Dr. or sleep as he keeps her up at night a lot needing her nursing care. Diapering, showering and shaving a teen is part of this job so if that would bother you then this is not the job for you. During his down times when he is watching TV or sleeping we need help with light house work, tidying, cleaning medical equipment, laundry and some ironing. We have a house cleaner who comes weekly so you are not responsible for any deep cleaning and the 2 of you will work together to change kids bedding on that day. The house is kept clean and relatively organized at all times but it is a group effort to keep it maintained. We are flexible with scheduling if you need to do an appointment or attend your kids school for awards etc.. But you must be dependable and energetic able to show up on time and help mom get kids ready for school during the school year the first hour of your shift. Must be a swimmer and willing to go on outings with the kids and nurses, float in the pool and go to the mall etc. on occasion. Must be willing to take teen on wheelchair walks in our neighborhood and out for sunshine. You need to be able to do ANYTHING a mother would do, load dishwasher, clean a window, feed a dog, take out trash, apply sun block, brush teeth, help with homework, read a story, etc and be willing to learn to tube feed and monitor our kiddo. Teen is extremely likable and pleasant. Needs constant supervision. There are people around to help lift and also a high quality electric hoyer in the house as well as a wheel in shower chair, but some rolling, turning pushing, pulling and lifting required. No weekends except on a rare occasion (wedding etc), major holidays off able to shift a day if you have something special going on or do one weekend day so you can be off a weekday if preferred. We are looking for a long term employee to be part of our family group for many, many years. You must be dependable as there is no one to call in when you cannot come. Absences need to be planned in advance. Our child is full grown at a young age and will not become adult size but is size of a pre-teen about 100 lbs and will not get bigger. You must be able to work in the US legally and pass fingerprinting and background check. You need to be able to attend medical appointments with the mom if needed and look professional. Do not need to drive but must have reliable transportation to and from work. During the school year hours are 6:30- 2:30 and summer 7:30 or 8 to 3:30 or 4. If you can travel it is a plus, not often but once or twice a year. House sitting when we travel without you occasionally required as well as New Years Eve babysitting. You may not work sick as our kids are medically fragile susceptible to infection. Our kids are all water babies and enjoy Hawaii and the Lake etc.. Monthly Salary and current rate of pay is above all long term care facilities. Christmas Bonus increases with longevity. Looking for someone very clean and well organized who can love our kids, cheer them on and help keep our home running smoothly. Someone who can step up if mom is in the hospital with a child. Sense of humor mandatory as well as CPR. We laugh a lot and there is lots to laugh about here. Joyful hearts only no Debbie or David downers please. Must have initiative and not be addicted to your cell phone for constant stimulation, as when you are at work your focus needs to be on our child. Self starter able to see things that need to be done without being asked and able to follow a list as well as ability to make one is preferred. Clean freaks invited to apply. Mom has 3 special needs kids by herself when you and the nurse leave so picking up after you or doing what you forgot to is not helpful. Some meal prep for kids required but minimal.
