Job Description: We are seeking an entry level Cabinet Maker to join our growing team. We want a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our custom cabinet shop as an Entry-Level Cabinet Maker/Shop Assistant. No professional cabinet-making experience is required—we are ready to train the right person! This is an excellent opportunity to learn the entire process of building high-quality, custom cabinetry from the ground up.
Assist in accurately measuring and cutting basic cabinet components, such as drawer boxes, shelving, and panel stock, under supervision.
Load and unload material deliveries, organizing lumber, plywood, and hardware.
Prepare cabinet hardware (hinges, drawer slides, pulls) for installation.
Assembly & Finishing Dry-fit and clamp cabinet boxes and assemblies.
Perform sanding and prep work on components prior to finishing.
Assist in applying laminate or veneer to cabinet parts.
Maintenance & Support Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sweeping, dusting, and debris removal.
Clean and maintain shop tools and equipment (e.g., changing saw blades, cleaning dust collection).
Run basic errands as needed.
Experience While prior woodworking experience is not necessary, the ideal candidate must possess the following foundational skills and characteristics:
Strong Mathematical Aptitude: Must have a solid working knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals) to handle precise measurements and calculations.
Reading and Measurement Proficiency: Proven ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure and follow basic construction drawings or blueprints.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks in a shop environment.
Willingness to Learn: A genuine interest in learning cabinet making, a good attitude, and a strong work ethic.
Safety Conscious: Commitment to following all shop safety procedures at all times.
