Overview: We are looking to hire an AS400 developer for our client to help with Application development and support. The ideal candidate will contribute extensively to Design, Coding, Review, Testing and Support for client applications. Roles & Responsibilities
Gather and document requirements, and make proposals for enhancements.
Responsible for analyzing and identifying a resolution for the production defects, consistently meeting the defined SLA.
Work with subject matter experts to acquire knowledge and understanding of existing systems and processes and be able to utilize new found knowledge to provide technical solutions to business needs.
Design programming modifications to include considerations for database, scenes , and reports.
Responsible for creating queries and scheduling a datafix for the database administrator to execute.
Responsible for making code changes, getting necessary code review sign-offs, QA and UAT sign-offs and scheduling the promotion.
Responsible for preparing artifacts as defined by the client based on the resolution type.
Requirements:
At least 5-7 years of experience in IT with solid knowledge on Application development and support.
Strong Hands-on experience in IBM AS400 iSeries platform and RPGLE programming is a must.
Sound technical knowledge in Integrated Language Environment (ILE), free-format RPG.
Experienced in Creating and debugging RPG/CL programs.
Ability to handle Client requirements, creating design documents and walk them with clients.Familiarity with SDLC, AGILE, DEVOPS principles, free format coding.
Familiarity with DB2/400 database.
Excellent SQL Skills.
Experience with creation of Sub-procedures, Subroutines and Service Programs.
Experience with Quality assurance and should be able to create and execute formal test plans.
Prior experience working with other departments, remote users, and vendors to execute a planned implementation.
