RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Irvine, CA that is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance and Process.

Key Tasks:
Closely partners with each of the Director/VPs of Software Engineering to align on QA resource staffing, planning, and application delivery
Actively participate in the entire product life cycle, including product specification reviews, design reviews, and user acceptance testing; Support the entire test, and certification process by getting involved early in the product development cycle and managing ownership areas through product release
Collaborate with Stretto's technology shared service teams to support testing activities from IT changes
Run and maintain a highly efficient test automation program for flagship products at 80+% automation level; Leads the development and execute automated test scripts as required
Ensure test execution results (both automated and manual) are captured adequately for audit and historical review; Capture and report test execution metrics regularly to management
Ensure team submits application defects into the defect tracking system and verify fixes when they are available; Capture and report defect metrics regularly to management
Research and recommend new test tools and testing techniques that drive quality and efficiency
Participate in team reviews (i.e. lessons learned), and provide guidance
Release planning - work together with Software Engineering and IT leadership to define the scope of work, timeline, and resource allocation; Ensures releases are properly packaged and tested (i.e. installers, zip files, release notes & notifications)
Create and/or provide oversight over the creation of work estimates and counsel associates (if appropriate) where estimates are not met
Establish the vision for test environments, implement and maintain them (i.e. dev, QA, staging) and ensure there is support for concurrent versions/development (i.e. production version and major version under dev/test)

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, advanced degree desirable
12 or more years in a Software Engineering organization with 6 or more years in a management role managing managers and/or mission-critical projects or programs
At least 5 years of experience working within a scrum-based engineering environment; Having a Scrum Master certification is a big plus
A proven track record of leading/managing multiple large projects simultaneously and delivering quality products with minimal defect leakage
Must have experience deploying large scale test automation programs that achieve quality products in a timely fashion
Must have experience leveraging a test management tool for oversight and reporting required; Having expertise leveraging Jira is a big plus
Has solid technical experience required with the ability to be 'hands-on' as required; The candidate must understand the basics of the application, database, and networking concepts
Has previous hands-on technical experience developing automated test scripts for performance or functional testing, a big plus
Experience producing quality and engineering productivity metrics
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
