Position Summary:

The Human Resource Director leads a Local HR team. The Director establishes and implements HR operational strategies; analyzes business information; leads HR and business initiatives; proactively engages in employee relations issues, manages labor union relationships and issues; manages candidate selection and employee development activities; and manages programs, policies and procedures in support of the business culture.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Oversees and directs talent management strategies, programs and metrics for assigned business locations.
  • Oversees development of plans and practices to ensure high levels of employee engagement.
  • Responsible for regulatory and legal compliance for employment and safety.
  • Assures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing employment.
  • Supports the business location’s affirmative action plan by conducting statistical analysis and documenting progress on the AAP.
  • Supports talent acquisition including advertising, interviewing and workforce planning.
  • Manages training and development programs including orientation, on-boarding and supports supervisory, management, leadership and safety training.
  • Coordinates union and labor relations at the direction of Reyes Holdings Labor Relations Office.
  • Oversees benefits education and communication with a focus on health and wellness.
  • Ensures effective communication and education of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Interprets application of policies in conjunction with Reyes Holdings subject matter experts.
  • Supports safety and risk management programs.
  • Measures Human Resource performance.
  • Manages performance management and career development processes.
  • Assists Local leadership team with budget creation and management as needed.
  • Provides HR services related to strategic management, leadership development, and project management.
  • May participate on cross-functional teams as a subject-matter expert or business unit expert for the company.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of diverse Human Resource Management experience in a progressive and results-oriented environment.
  • 5 plus years of supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding employment and wage and hour requirements.
  • Demonstrated functional knowledge of multiple HR competencies including Talent Management, Succession Planning, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Labor/Union Relations, Regulatory Compliance, Performance Management, EEO/AA, Organizational Development, Leadership Development and Employee Training.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer technologies and have the ability to learn new systems quickly and create improved efficiency.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to balance conflicting points of view, function effectively under pressure and demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex problems by leveraging business/HR knowledge and client relationships.
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to logically organize thinking on issues, develop thorough execution plans and drive process to successful implementation.
  • Progressive thinker, entrepreneurial mentality and rapid decision-making strength.
  • Ability to establish a high level of trust and credibility in the organization adept at influencing the thinking and best practices of each functional manager.
  • Effective oral and written communications as well as excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to integrate within the culture of the company through partnering with leaders throughout a variety of market units and functional areas.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Must have desire to grow with the company and develop readiness to relocate to other Reyes Holdings operations as needed and opportunities arise.
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s degree
  • SPHR/PHR certification
