Job Description

Purpose of position:

Lead a team focused on continuous improvement, process controls, performance metrics, customer complaint resolution, and manage the voice of the customer feedback.

Lead the development, management, and implementation of quality control programs that guarantee delivery of consistent, high quality products that meet customer specifications.

Manage QC data collection/reporting system.

o Verify and statistically analyze data to ensure execution of programs at time of manufacture and ensure specification compliance.

o Analyze product quality metrics and trends, audit data, customer feedback, and workgroup input

o Ensure reporting of information as a tool to drive improvement

Collaborate with all relevant parties to identify root cause, facilitate development of corrective actions, and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.

Serve as key contact point for internal/external business units for general QC information requirements.

Manage quality control monitoring programs and training to manufacturing employees for delivering consistent outcomes within established standards for customer specifications and production goals.

Lead the development, management, and implementation of quality control programs that guarantee delivery of consistent, high quality products that meet customer specifications.

Create structure and organization of QA files of required suppliers, audits, operating procedures, product information, compliance documents, certificates and/or critical supporting data

Leadquality and incident resolution activities for the products and operating practices.

All persons employed or associated with Foster Farms are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products. The food safety and quality policies are summarized and communicated in training sessions. Each new employee attends a food safety training session before beginning work. All employees attend a refresher training session at least once per year. Records are maintained reflecting attendance at the training sessions.

Essential Job Functions:

Develop facility-wide benchmarks and corresponding metrics to measure quality standards and effectiveness of programs.

Responsible for assuring customer specifications are met by ensuring QC audit criteria is defined to meet expectations.

Approve release of inventory for shipment based on specification compliance. Ensure inventory available for shipment meets specification requirements

Manage third party audit services as required by customers.

Investigate and approve (as required) customer credit requests.

Manage and ensure data submittal as required by customers.

Ensure that quality systems audit program is in place and meets expected results for the production facilities.

Works with Plant Operations leadership team to establish and align quality objectives with production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

Identify quality issues and effectively communicates to senior management time sensitive findings and information that could impact Foster Farms or its customers.

Ensures accurate communication of complaint resolutions to customers.

Manages plant programs to ensure Foodservice Supplier requirements are met.

Provide trending data and reporting of complaints and other metrics to assess process performance.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.

Demonstrated knowledge of (and/or certifications in) Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

Experience developing quality strategy throughout the manufacturing process with exceptional results.

Substantial experience in Quality Assurance in a Production environment, 5 – 7 years, in progressive management or leadership roles is required.

Ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization & customers, influence key stakeholders, and constructively manage opposition

Ability to develop quality systems, including ability to write policies and SOP’s as well as mentor others in writing policies and SOPs.

Proven ability to operate successfully in a growing organization, including demonstrated ability to coordinate efforts.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Innovative approach to problem solving

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to communicate using data. Effective user of Office or Google programs for analysis and presentations.

Physical Requirements:

Must have ability to obtain valid CA Driver’s and have reliable transportation.

Must be able to travel 25% of the time, overnight travel is required.
