Landscaping (Full-time, Day Shift) -Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Our core values are compassion, integrity, excellence, teamwork and wholeness.The Supervisor-Landscaping supervises and trains employees in the proper procedures of tree maintenance, landscape construction, landscape maintenance, water resource management and irrigation maintenance, pest and disease control, and equipment maintenance and repair. Functions as department Safety Coordinator. Performs other duties as needed.High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum five years of experience required, showing job growth within the horticulture maintenance field. Valid California Driver’s License required. A Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate or Certified Arborist Card is preferred. Two-year certificate in horticulture or related field is preferred. Additional proven experience may be considered in place of certificate.Knowledgeable in the proper cleaning and maintenance of multiple parking structures. Knowledgeable & able to train in at least 4 of the following areas: Horticultural principles; Landscape water management; Power equipment operation, maintenance, and repair; Landscape and irrigation design; Safe pesticide handling; Insect and disease control; Urban forest management; Plant identification. Able to effectively operate telephones, pagers, radios, equipment controls, valves, and monitoring devices. Able to read, write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.Additional InformationOrganization: Loma Linda Unv Shared Services
