Rapidly expanding clothing company seeks experienced Accounting Systems Coordinator for immediate hire. Position is located in Vernon, near downtown Los Angeles.
The Accounting Systems Coordinator must possess experience in Accounting, and an understanding of other related duties. Advanced expertise in Excel is a must. Candidate must be computer savvy, with experience in Accounting Software including Quickbooks and ERP systems. Exposure to operations in garment industry would be necessary.
Essential functions:
Coordinate monthly reporting for AR/AP/Inventory/Banks/Credit Cards
Follow up/Reconcile production variances and settlement
Follow up/Reconcile Samples shipments and settlement
Follow Up/Reconcile Fabric & Development Costs and settlement
Trouble shoot accounting issues with other departments
Miscellaneous Accounting/Operations/Administrative/Sales/Production projects & reporting
Reconcile Wholesale and Retail invoicing, credits, payments and returns
Reconcile eComm orders, shipments, invoicing, payment by credit card capture, refunds, and returns
Ability to work in multiple foreign currencies, in addition to US $, Euro and GBP
Understand basis of generating Commission Statements
Reconcile general ledger accounts, and ensure the underlying support is appropriate
Understand purpose of specific accounts and nature of transactions
Direct staff in investigating and resolving any reconciling items
Prepare journal entries for business activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Perform analytical review of account balances and activity
Understand and ensure processes are in compliance with internal controls and business practices
Prepare and Update guidelines for Methods and Procedures in Accounting and Other departments
Implement improvements as needed
Take initiative in day to day assignments and on special projects
Communicate effectively internally and externally, both verbal and written
Competencies:
Experienced in Accounting systems and practices
Knowledge of GAAP
Understanding of internal controls and business processes
Strong and effective communication in English, both written & verbal
Advanced excel skills
Strong analytical skills with logical approach to problem solving
Understanding/experience in implementing best practices
Improve efficiency within existing processes
