Under general supervision is responsible for planning and implementing recreational, educational and sports activities for 5 -12 year old, such as arts and crafts, learning groups, outdoor games and playing intramural sports.
Major Duties:
Prepares monthly parent calendars as a team.
Implements and supervises excursions.
Plans and implements camp special events.
Supervises elementary school children ages 5-12 years old.
Plans and implements daily activity plans.
Prepares and serves snacks.
Keeps a safe and clean environment.
Keeps accurate attendance records.
Works cooperatively with the other staff.
Performs related duties as required.
Acts as a liaison to the parents.
Performs first aid and complete accident reports as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
(1) Completion of one year of college, majoring in Recreation, Education or related field.
(2) Six units of Child Development education/elementary education preferred.
(3) One year paid recreation work experience.
Ability to:
Plan and prepare lesson plans.
Ability to organize, supervise and lead age-appropriate activities.
Teamwork ability.
Ability to work with the public.
