Assistant Preschool Teacher
Hazel Woods Preschool in Mar Vista is hiring a part-time Preschool Assistant Teacher. We are a small Waldorf/play-based program with an integrated reading program. We have 14 kids, 3 teachers, plus a Director. Kids are ages 2.9-5 years in one mixed age group class. Curriculum focus is on play, nature, art, music, yoga, and seasonal activities. We respect the children as whole beings, and we teach and emphasize respectful relationships, and reverence for the world around us.
Position is 21 hours per week
Tuesday-Friday 8:15-1:30
Our program meets 40 weeks/year as we are closed 2 weeks in the Fall, 4 weeks for Winter, 2 weeks in the Spring, and 4 weeks in Summer (August). Position is non paid on seasonal breaks.
Position has sick pay and vacation at normal accrual + Holiday bonus and annual merit raises!

Requirements:
12 units ECE units
Experience preferred
Covid-19 Vaccine
Negative TB test
Must pass background clearance
CPR & First Aid
We’re looking to hire someone that plans to remain in the position for at least 24 months
Pay is $18-$22/hour based on experience and education.
