We are looking for a candidate to provide technical expertise to teams in providing solutions with Windows Server based systems. The Senior Windows Engineer will be required to gather business requirements, make recommendations and implement standards and solutions. You will be managing systems and services in the cloud and on premise. You will assist teams by building architectures for their services and in the adoption and deployment of cloud based services. You will help drive new technologies and policies to create scalable solutions.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Design, enhance and manage the Active Directory infrastructure. Expand Active Directory to cloud provides
  • Maintain a strong security posture by securing systems and providing guidance on tools and policies to maintain security
  • Administer and manage the overall Windows Server based infrastructure and services which includes deployment, configuration and management of Windows Server systems
  • Design and deploy the infrastructure and services for new applications
  • Work with teams to move existing applications and services to a cloud provider
  • Utilizes infrastructure as code and configuration management to deploy and maintain architectures
  • Compares, evaluates, and implements new technologies, and integrates them into the computing environment
  • Monitors and evaluates resource usage to recommend/develop enhancements to system capabilities and performance
  • Resolves difficult system problems and provides consultation or training
  • Creates documents for users, staff, consulting personnel, and developers
  • Acts as liaison with various teams across the campus
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5-8 years of Windows, Unix, Linux or mobile system administration experience
  • Specific experience in systems design, implementation, evaluation, and project management
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience in managing Windows Server operating systems
  • At least 3 years of Active Directory management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security protocols and vulnerability remediation
  • Familiar setting up clustered Windows File Servers (DFS)
  • Experience with a configuration management tool or infrastructure as code including Ansible or Terraform
  • Experience in VMware or other virtualization tools
  • Experience in managing resources in AWS or Azure is a plus
  • Experience in web based technologies including IIS
  • The ability to read and write in a scripting language including PowerShell or knows one or more programming languages
  • The candidate should have experience with monitoring systems and services
  • Knowledge of SANs and cloud storage solutions
  • Experience in infrastructure services, such as DNS, Email, Kerberos and firewalls
  • Ability to manage distributed resources, perform complex tasks and resolve complex systems problems
  • Ability to work in partnership with team members
