Randstad Technologies is currently seeking Business Systems Analysts for our client's Information Systems team at a thriving University in Los Angeles! If you bring at least 3 years experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst or a similiar role, have experience with SQL querying, application support and the ability to develop and execute BRD's, use cases, testing plans for new and enhanced applications of varying complexity, we'd love to tell you about this long-term fully-remote contract opportunity!

responsibilities:


  • Conducts thorough systems analysis for moderate-to-complex systems like distributed systems, mainframe based systems, applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions as they pertain to Information Systems. This involves completing feasibility studies of proposed development projects, analyzing moderate-to-complex functional processes, developing overall system requirements and detailed system and programming specifications. Analyzes the impact of systems development on end-users, policies and procedures. Designs detailed inputs and outputs; web interfaces; and system and programming specifications.
  • Elicit requirements using interviews; business process descriptions; use cases; business and system process analysis; task and workflow analysis; and applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
  • Create and maintain moderate-to-complex business systems analysis artifacts, such as wireframes; use cases; traceability matrix; and process models; and applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
  • Determine scope and participate in establishing priorities for process and system changes for moderate-to-complex systems
  • Evaluate requests for program, report, and database modifications or enhancements
  • Participate in testing developed software and system processes, which include new IT solutions and changes to existing IT solutions.
  • Perform quality assurance testing of system configuration and application development efforts to ensure product adequately meets all functional needs and requirements defined in scope of project.
  • Design, develop, test, debug, and manage implementation of moderate-to-complex applications applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions as they pertain to Information Systems.
  • Develop thorough and detailed test plans, devise test data, rigorously test programs, plan and coordinate full system and user acceptance tests, and document results of moderate-to-complex systems applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions as they pertain to Information Systems.
  • Participate in project meetings to review project deliverables and timelines for moderate-to-complex mainframe and distributed systems
  • Create and maintain sketches, workflow diagrams, wireframes and mock-ups based on models created from elicitation and discovery of business requirements, and communicate business reasons behind user-interface design decisions.
  • Create and maintain user interface requirements in collaboration with developers and subject matter experts while adhering to user experience standards, and best practices.
  • Determine scope and participate in establishing priorities for process and system changes for moderate-to-complex systems
  • Use thorough knowledge and experience in SQL as part of application and system development along with application and system change requests and support.
  • Provide thorough analytical support for the Systems unit.
  • Analyze and resolve moderate-to-complex production system problems
  • Seasoned, experienced operational (business support) resource to advise and consult with management and technical staff concerning technical details of software/web technologies and applications systems both homegrown and vendor bought.
  • Meet with end-users, management, and technical staff, to develop, implement, enhance, and maintain general applications as appropriate. Meets with and serves on, as assigned, systems development project teams and work groups.
  • Develop user manuals and other systems documentation for existing and new systems and processes applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions as they pertain to Information Systems.
  • Analyze the systems and operational impact of proposed changes in regulations applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions as they pertain to Information Systems.
  • Participate in the analysis and resolution of operational (business support) system production problems and maintenance of established Information Systems which includes, but not limited to, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Use thorough knowledge and experience in SQL as part of operation and production support and troubleshooting.
