Boeing Software Engineering is seeking a Lead Product Owner/ Deployment Specialist - Level 5 to join the Enterprise DevSecOps team. The Enterprise DevSecOps team manages our efforts for the Digital Acceleration initiative, driving DevSecOps and migration to Cloud services, including our existing Boeing Software Factory. Boeing will move software development to the cloud. This initiative represents the future direction for Enterprise software development and many programs are adopting this approach, migrating to this environment and its tools.

The selected individual with partner with a geographically dispersed team of engineers and technical specialists working closely with our Cyber Systems and IT business partners to assess program readiness and deploy, administer and maintain this toolchain and network while establishing and coordinating future tools (including product line support) for product software development across the Boeing Enterprise. This role will focus on the successful program engagements, enablement and deployment of the software factory, toolchain and infrastructure as well as leading the development of the cloud ecosystems.

We seek candidates who have experience with teams performing and deploying DevSecOps, software development, test automation, and system automation. Position responsibilities:

  • Program engagements, enablement and deployment of the DevSecOps software factory, toolchain and infrastructure
  • Collaborating closely with our IT and cybersecurity colleagues to ensure cost-effective, timely, and secure deployment of the environment and its tools
  • Interfacing with programs across the enterprise in the planning and deployment of the Enterprise DevSecOps, and other toolchains and components
  • Leading the design/direction of tool evaluations, trade studies and strategy discussions
  • Collaborating with other BDS managers and team members across multiple sites to ensure consistent DevSecOps deployments
  • Supporting other Enterprise Core Engineering initiatives and projects


This position allows telecommuting and does require applicants to live in either of the listed location options: : Saint Louis, MO (Berkeley, MO), El Segundo CA, Colorado Springs, CO, Fairfax VA, North Charleston SC, Philadelphia, PA full-time.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires ship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or any technical field or seven (7) or more years of related work experience
  • Strong Communication and Coordination Skills and experience working with internal and external customers
  • 5+ years' experience around software development, systems engineering, and/or integration and test experience


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 1+ years' experience with Cloud technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Podman, Rancher, Openshift, Git, Helm, Ansible, Chef, Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, AZURE, and/or AWS
  • Strong Working knowledge of Automation, the CI/CD process, and design patterns, including debugging, test, and integration of software tools.
  • Strong skills as a self-starter that can thrive in a distributed remote work environment.
  • Experience working with and supporting systems with Linux Operating System (OS)
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, Go, or C
  • Understanding of secure software development methodologies and Security First mindset.
  • Understanding of designing and implementing full stack/Microservice infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Istio/Service Mesh
  • Have the ability to set up, and manage a tool-chain using tools such as Jenkins, Gradle, Maven, Artifactory, ELK, SonarQube, Jira, Prometheus, Fluentd, Helm, DataGrid, JBoss, Cloud Suite, OpenShift, Docker and more.
  • Understanding of security controls such as DoD RMF, HIPAA, or Security Operations Center (SOC)

Typical Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree typically 14 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard


Travel:

Potential need for quarterly travel after the pandemic subsides.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Work Shift:

This position is for 1st shift.

Colorado summary pay range: Min: $125,000 - Max: $223,000
