The Medical Assistant escorts patients to patient care area, obtains and records patient vital signs, height, weight, medications, and allergies, performs EKGs, transports blood products and laboratory specimens.
Performs various office and clerical duties. Possess strong communication skills. Ensures patient's rights to privacy, safety, and confidentiality are maintained.
Maintains a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies, and safety regulations. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education :
High school diploma or GED equivalent Minimum Experience / Knowledge :
1 + years of experience in acute care setting or ambulatory setting preferred.
Combined education / experience may substitute for minimum experience.
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
Spanish language skills preferred. Required License / Certification :
BLS required
California CNA license or Medical Assistant Certification / Diploma
Fire and Safety certification within 30 days of hire (if work is assigned within City of LA)
