ResponsibilitiesYou will serve as the Medical Student Coordinator for the Department of Emergency Medicine, acting as liaison to students, creating schedules, and coordinating various activities. You will also serve as Fellowship Coordinator for the Department of Emergency Medicine, arranging interviews for candidates, scheduling meetings and assisting with projects for multiple fellowships. In addition, you will assist in management of all academic personnel and credentialing processes for the Department of Emergency Medicine, including full-time clinical faculty, voluntary academic appointment. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: dossier preparation and management, database management, and assist in administrative analysis and resolution of complex departmental issues pertaining to medical students, faculty and other academic personnel matters.QualificationsSkill in planning and organizing complex materials and information efficiently

Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload

Changes in assignments, pressures of deadlines, competitive requirements and heavy workload.

Ability to speak effectively to persons of various social, cultural, economic or educational backgrounds, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information explain policies and procedures, provide information or resolve conflicts.

Skill in planning and implementing educational program related to medical students

Financial skills necessary to compile statistics, manage budgets, process reimbursements, submit and tuition payments, etc.

Computer skills necessary to maintain data base programs and working knowledge of UCLA systems (MyCourses, UCRecruit, OPUS, Interfolio, Bruin Buy, Travel Express).

Demonstrated writing skills to compose logical, detailed, comprehensive, and grammatically correct correspondence, procedures, and reports.

Ability to function effectively as a team member. Establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with members of the healthcare team.

Demonstrated skill in analyzing academic curriculum vitaes and bibliographies to evaluate physician/scientist level of achievement and to determine whether it is commensurate with level of proposal.

Ability to read and interpret academic personnel manuals including the CALL.
