The program has been a National Marrow Donor Program/Be The Match transplant center since 2001, and is now recognized as a Blue Cross Center of Medical Excellence. This designation is awarded to select hospitals that meet evidence-based standards and provide high-quality care.The Blood and Marrow Transplant Program performs autologous, allogeneic-related and unrelated, and allogeneic cord blood transplants, using HEPA-filtered, positive pressure rooms to ensure the safety and comfort of patients. The program is one of only two in the country offering bloodless bone marrow transplant to Jehovah's Witnesses with lymphoma, multiple myeloma and other blood cancers.Summary of Essential Job Duties:Provide physician support and direct patient care in a dedicated BMT clinic.

Care for assigned patient population on the inpatient unit and in the outpatient BMT clinic.

A Nurse Practitioner’s practice incorporates both independent decision making abilities and collaboration with the board certified/eligible physician to provide expert care to the patients.

Provides individualized care upholding CSHS philosophies including but not limited to care consistent with Nursing standards of Care/Practice, the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, and the Plan for Provision of Patient Care, the Performance Improvement Plan, the Patient Education Plan, the professional Organization Standards, Code of Conduct, and hospital and departmental policies and procedure.

Identify the ability of the age specific population served to follow direction/instructions and give consent.

Recognize safety concerns and institute measures to provide safe environment and provide appropriate assessment, intervention, and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones in the population served.

Education:Master of Nursing Degree required

Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses

License/Certification:Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License

Current DEA license and Furnishing Number or eligibility to obtain

National Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner

BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Experience:3+ years nursing experience preferred

1+ years inpatient NP experience strongly preferred

BMT or Oncology experience strongly preferred
