We want to learn more about you!Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is an organization known nationally for excellence in cancer treatment, research, and education.The Anesthesia Pain Center department is seeking for highly motivated Patient Service Representative II. In this position, you will support highly respected physicians and clinical staff in the delivery of health care by performing a broad range of administrative and patient-focused tasks to maintain a smooth and efficient office workflow.What will you be doing in this role?The Patient Service Rep Il provides day to day clinical support to the Pre-Kidney Transplant Program. Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and problem solving skills in applying detailed knowledge of the responsibilities. Receive and triage phone calls in a timely manner.Essential duties include but are not limited to: answering phone calls from patients, scheduling patient appointments, filing, faxing, calling patients to remind them of their appointments, prepping patient charts for clinic, gathering clinical reports for doctor/coordinator review, data collection, database entry, scan records into the database, upload records into CSLink/Phoenix.Must have excellent and clear communication skills (oral and written). Must be able follow-up on tasks until completed and update the Team. Basic understanding of medical terminology ideal. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/OutIook required. Must be comfortable working in a fast pace environment.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilizes a consistent telephone greeting, answers telephones, takes complete and accurate messages, triages information and relays to appropriate party to support operational aspects of patient care.

Demonstrates compassion, positivity, and professionalism. Utilizes AIDET during interactions with patients and shows sensitivity and attention to the patient populations being served. Consistently meets productivity standard/guidelines set by department.

Schedules patient appointments, coordinates procedure/ testing with outside departments, and ancillary services, obtains required authorizations timely to allow for rescheduling of appointment if needed according to guidelines/workflows by providing required documentation, monitors daily patient schedule, places reminder calls, and identifies "no shows" for rescheduling. Consistently verifies patient information at the time of scheduling to prevent errors.

Demonstrates consistent practice of Patient Service Standards in performance of duties.

Ensures the collection of patient demographics and insurance information. Ability to obtain and provide cash prices for uninsured patients. May collect identified patient financial obligation, arrange method of payment, or resolve account according to standard procedures.

Manages referrals of patients to other physicians/specialty.

Calls patients with appointment reminders (and/or works edit list from Televox).

Retrieves information from files as requested and assembles paperwork and reference material as requested by physicians, nurses, and patients. Responsible for following CSMC and HIPPA confidentiality guidelines while preforming all duties.

Collects and reconciles facility and professional fee charge tickets; batch and scan charge tickets daily and follow-up on missing charge tickets (if applicable).

Builds and maintains physician appointment schedule templates in Cadence (scheduling system).

Performs courier and transport services, including medications from the pharmacy and returning unused medications to the pharmacy, following policy and guidelines.

Performs other activities as required.

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED required

Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience:

Two (2) years of experience in a medical office setting/scheduling of patients required.

Ability to handle multiple tasks frequently with short-time lines, prioritize and organize work, and complete assignments in a deadlines timely, accurate manner.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and medical terminology skills. English language proficiency. Being bilingual is a plus!

Strong computer skills.
