We are looking for a talented Postdoc-level computational biologist or bioinformatician. As a Bioinformatician/Postdoc Research Fellow, you will serve as a research trainee for the purpose of enhancing and developing research competencies.Essential duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for installing and maintaining existing open source software, writing novel scripting, and piping of high throughput data for analysis. Also, builds computational infrastructure and systems to support the current software.
Works with the PI and Research Team in Cancer Biology Program at Cedars-Sinai on standard and complex research projects to customize analysis of data.
Develop web-based custom analytics and data management applications and tools to facilitate large-scale data analysis.
Format and upload finished analysis to open source or commercial programs for biologists to visualize.
Education required:
PhD Degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science in relevant fields (e.g. Biology with strong quantitative training, bioinformatics)
Experience required:
0-3 years in a research environment. Background and work knowledge in algorithms, scientific computing, and machine learning or statistics.
Familiar with Python, R, and the Unix (Linux) environment.
Experience in manipulating, analyzing, and annotating Multi-Omics data sets, both in exploratory and pipelined fashions, will be a plus.
