The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Planner - Electrical Test Equipment to join our team providing Special Test Equipment in support of all space systems verification and test activities in El Segundo, CA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans and leads STE processes for developing, implementing and maintaining manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration of Electrical Special Test Equipment
  • Collaborate and communicate with all value stream organizations on technically complex work statements to anticipate, identify, and coordinate resolution of design, manufacturing, installation and procurement issues which may have impacts to the success of a test program
  • Work with design teams to break down statement including development of a work breakdown structure and drawing trees
  • Capture statement of work in the Integrated Build Plan and populate make/buy decisions
  • Provide input to design engineering on preliminary designs with a focus on manufacturability and conduct final drawing review and approval
  • Initiate part procurement and associated parts furnished by engineering for builds and generate manufacturing work instructions
  • Coordinate with Supplier Management & Program partners in support of the Integrated Build Plan
  • Participates in source selection to ensure manufacturing requirements are met
  • Provide technical integration to facilitate efficient manufacturing execution
  • Lead integration of complex suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements
  • Coordinate material delivery to vendors, when required
  • Leads investigation and resolution of complex or systemic manufacturing related issues that arise during fabrication/assembly
  • Serve as a resource for safety, quality and productivity improvements (in Engineering Reviews (i.e., CoDR, PDR, CDR, etc.)
  • Works under minimal direction and trains others


This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires ship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance/Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing planning
  • 4+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and schematics
  • Experience in coordinating requirements with suppliers and/or subcontractors


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program
  • Experience with test scheduling


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).
