Job DutiesJob Qualifications Job Duties Responsibilities
Under general supervision of the principal investigator, and with guidance from postdoctoral fellows, conduct and evaluate scientific projects related to genetic abnormalities that affect the skeleton.
Carry out experiments related to the genotyping of mice. Perform histology studies that include immunostaining and microscopy for tissue analysis and the tools needed to prepare and analyze such samples.
Be capable of performing PCR and western blot analysis. Help teach basic laboratory skills related to preparing buffer solutions, cleaning of glassware cell culture, confocal skills and biochemical / cell biology methods and other lab maintenance tasks.
Assist with ordering lab supplies.

Ability to recognize and use technical terminology related to the musculoskeletal system- Required
Skill in conducting studies with cell culture, cloning, confocal microscopy, immune cell function. -Required
Computer skills (e.g., familiarity with database, graphic programs / software). Required
Ability to use / maintain histological, confocal and biochemical / cell culture equipment and imaging software. Required
Experience in standard biochemical procedures (e.g., accurate pipetting, knowledge of spectrophotometers and centrifuges). Required
Ability to communicate effectively -Required
Detailed knowledge of all safety related laboratory procedures as set forth in federal, state and University guidelines. -Required
