ResponsibilitiesThe University of California ACEs Aware Family Resilience Network (UCAAN) is a multi-campus initiative that will leverage the substantial interdisciplinary resources of UCSF's and UCLA's public health sciences campuses to screen patients for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and develop, promote, and sustain evidence-based methods to address the impacts of trauma and toxic stress.Reporting to the UCAAN Director, the UCAAN Finance Director will have primary responsibilities for the business practices of UCAAN, including financial management and analysis, oversight of purchasing, procurement, accounts payable, and payroll, service agreements, funding mechanisms including administration and management of state funds, development of business models and strategic planning, preparation of program budgets, and audit functions.A critical component of this role is participating in UCAAN's grant-making activities and pilot programs, including developing program budgets and disbursement schedules for partner programs, leading financial analysis to evaluate sustainability and viability, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate compliance with reporting requirements. The UCAAN Finance Director is responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing internal financial controls, while providing oversight to the department's information systems and data stewardship programs.QualificationsREQUIRED:Demonstrated advanced skill in financial analysis, budget planning, finance, economics and preparation sufficient to administer a multi-million-dollar budget with multiple funding sourcesSkill in resolving complex issues which involve interpretation and application of established policies and procedures, managerial analysis and decision makingExperience in supervising staff to include organizing workflow to accomplish objectives, delegating responsibility, training, evaluating employee performance and disciplineExperience in negotiating and exchanging ideas, information and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or arriving jointly at decisions, conclusions or solutions.Demonstrated skill in developing business plans, financial models and revenue forecasts.Experience reading and interpreting financial reports, including salary distribution spreadsheets in order to draw conclusions from the dataKnowledge of audit policies and skill establishing and reviewing effective audit and accountability systemsAbility to correlate available financial resources with divisional programmatic needs.Skill in projecting, analyzing and monitoring income and expense trends on the basis of existing revenue and cost dataProven track record in analyzing, developing and proposing solutions to budget problems using a variety of quantitative analytical techniquesPREFERRED:Bachelor's DegreeKnowledge of University policy and procedure in the areas of accounting, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, and contractingKnowledge of University administrative units and their services, role and responsibilities; ability to contact them appropriately to obtain needed informationSkill in navigating the Transfer Funds, Purchasing and Accounts Payable, Query Database and Employee Database systems at UCLAPrevious management experience at a university, public sector or healthcare organization.UCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
