We are looking for a creative and talented Chef de Cuisine to join our team at AKASHA.
AKASHA is located in downtown Culver City and offers a novel interpretation of globally-inspired American cuisine, featuring a locally sourced farm to-table menu driven by seasonal flavors and principles of sustainability. We offer paid time off and health benefits.
You will be responsible for assisting with menu changes, daily specials, food and labor cost, ordering, inventory, scheduling, training of kitchen staff, hiring and firing, and the overall running of the kitchen.
Qualified candidates will have:
A passion for shopping and sourcing our local farmer's markets weekly
Minimum of 5 years of culinary/kitchen management experience as an Executive Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine
Must have a strong command of global and California cuisine
Experience with in-house and off-site catering, seasonal holiday menus and events
A passion for training and development of others
Attention to details of food quality, preparation and presentation
Influential, team oriented leadership style
Strong communication skills
Strong written and computer skills; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), E-mail and POS systems
Experience with pizza and pasta is a plus.
