Maintenance Technician Job Description
Our client, an Affordable Housing Developer, needs a Maintenance Technician to join their team part-time, 2 days per week, at one of their Downtown Los Angeles communities.
Job Description – The Maintenance Technician will primarily focus on supporting the property management company with periodic maintenance responsibilities around the leased building. With excellent attention to detail, the Maintenance Technician will work repairing and resolving building issues, executing on special requests and interacting with the employees/tenants. The successful Maintenance Technician will work with team members and tenants to identify preventative maintenance and ensure safety issues are addressed. Additional responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician include the following:
Responsibilities Include:
Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped
Position Requirements
2 years of previous Maintenance Technician experience with carpentry expertise a plus.
Experience with plumbing and electrical wiring knowledge and capabilities
Professional, reliable, flexible and have a positive, can-do attitude.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize
Interpersonal skills to interact well with employees/tenants of the buildings
Compensation
$25-$27/HR DOE
