Busy plaintiff's personal injury law firm is seeking a paralegal with significant pre-trial litigation and trial preparation experience to join our growing team. Candidates should have a minimum of seven years experience working as a paralegal in a plaintiff's personal injury law firm. The paralegal will be responsible for supporting the firm's founding partner and two associates in managing the firm's docket of personal injury cases that are in litigation and preparing them for trial, as well as assist as needed in the preparation for the trial of a complex products liability case. Responsibilities & Duties:
File and serve pleadings, motions, and discovery
Propound discovery
Respond to discovery
Prepare deposition notices and subpoenas
Schedule depositions, court hearings, and other meetings
Obtain copies of medical and other types of records
Prepare legal correspondence
File, organize, scan, copy, and fax/email legal documents
Ensure compliance with all pre-trial deadlines and requirements as set forth in the California Rules of Court, Code of Civil Procedure, and Local Rules for the Superior Courts of Los Angeles, Kern, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties.
Assemble exhibits, prepare trial binders, witness books, and other trial documents
Schedule client appointments with consulting medical experts
Salary commensurate with experience.
