Boutique law firm in Downtown Los Angeles is looking to hire a senior family law supervising attorney with substantial family law practice experience (including trial). The ideal applicant will have a minimum of 8 years of practice experience in the areas of complex marriage dissolution, child custody cases, child/spousal support matters, pre/post nuptial agreements, and parentage actions. Our firm offers a congenial work environment, a low billable hour requirement, and competitive compensation and benefits. California Bar Admission is required.

The Supervising Attorney will be responsible for managing the direct services work of two or more staff attorneys, one paralegal, and one administrative assistant. The Supervising Attorney will also help maintain and grow relationships with clients and strategic partners.

Responsibilities:

The Supervising Attorney position has the following responsibilities:

Supervision of direct services (staff and casework);

Maintaining a caseload as balanced with other supervisorial and administrative duties;

Training, mentoring, and professional development of staff;

Collaborate with the Directing Attorney and team members to assist with program design, development, oversight and administration;

Responsible for case reporting, management, and outcome tracking;

Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and strategic partners;

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have at least 8 years of California family law practice experience (including trial), ideally in a boutique or mid-sized law firm

Member in Good Standing with California Bar

Ability to effectively supervise legal work in a fast-paced environment and high volume practice;

Experience managing and motivating a team;

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create a culture of feedback and continual improvement;

Organization skills and attention to detail;

Strong, demonstrable written and oral communication skills;

Excellent negotiation skills;

Ability to commute throughout Los Angeles County and adjoining counties for court hearings;

Ability to read, write and speak fluently in Spanish is strongly preferred, but not required.
