We are an ultra-precision machining job shop to the Aerospace, Defense, and Commercial Industries. We specialize in machining and polishing components used in nuclear reactors, guidance systems, satellites, and targeting systems holding machining tolerances to 50 millionths of an inch, and polishing tolerances to the billionths (angstroms).

We are looking for someone with a positive can do attitude, discipline to focus on long term projects, disposition to thrive under pressure, and self-starter drive to continuously improve.

MAJOR PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The major purpose of the Production Control Manager is to assure that all product is delivered to the customer to the exact specification as outlined by the customer in the agreed upon purchase order and terms and conditions. Deliver parts within the purchase order guidelines. Assure that all procedures and processes are followed throughout the entire manufacturing process. Oversee and resolves disputes throughout the process that involves prioritization and resource limitations

JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Conducts and oversees the daily shortage meetings with all production coordinators, operations and quality

department heads.

2. Develops and maintains monthly, quarterly, and yearly master schedules to forecast shipping dollars to

management.

3. Responsible for shop floor machine scheduling.

4. Reviews purchased requirements to ensure stable inventory levels.

5. Handles all process and procedural disputes between departments involved with the production control.

6. Reviews work in process to ensure on-time deliveries on a daily basis.

7. Distribution of a monthly on-time shipment percentage report sorted by customer by part.

8. Responsible for assignment of customer accounts and determines additional training needs for specific

customer requirements.

9. Establishes workload schedules for each individual coordinator.

10. Handles and balances departmental resources.

11. Oversees preparation of all customer program reviews with individual coordinators to assure accuracy of

data.

12. Personal involvement with customers when problem solving requires special handling.

13. Authority over inventory control, (raw material, components stores and finished goods) shipping and

receiving, transportation, shop floor scheduling, shop floor movement, production planning, material

planning and customer communication.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

ORGANIZING AND PLANNING:

Plan and organize the continual flow of the manufacturing process. Must have the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time. Must organize daily plans for a multitude of department personnel. Must be well versed in the ability to create, manage and manipulate data electronically (i.e. spreadsheets).

COMMUNICATIONS:

WRITTEN - Must be able to communicate extensively internally through electronic tools like spreadsheets as well as draft communications to the customer base in the forms of memos, letters and technical reports.

ORAL - Must posses a strong ability to speak in a technical and business manner on a routine basis. Must be able to clearly communicate with supervisors, peers and subordinates. Must be able to communicate professionally in the form of presentations and program reviews with the customer base. Must be able to convey a positive image.

COOPERATION:

The Production Control Manager works with individuals and teams from all areas of the company to achieve mutual goals and objectives. Cooperation with all team members throughout the company is essential in assuring a positive work environment.

DEVELOPMENT OF OTHERS:

Actively participates in the development and training of production personnel at all levels. Involved in training programs within other department on an as needed basis.

PRINCIPAL CHALLENGES:

Dealing with customer demands when schedule conflicts occur. Maintaining professional courtesy and ethics at all times during internal and external confrontations. Handling the progression of many projects concurrently.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

B.S. degree in Business, or equivalent experience

TYPE AND LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years of experience in production control management within an aerospace manufacturing company. Must have working knowledge of customer base. Must have an understanding of blue print interpretation as well as being familiar with commercial and government specifications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to sit for long periods of time

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Compliance with safety standards and policies will be graded as part of job performance

ATTENDANCE:

Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
