Carmerica Motor Group Service Center is hiring. Our used car dealership needs an experienced, thorough mechanic for our service department. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing dealership vehicles as well as customer cars. Were looking for a well-trained and highly organized professional who takes pride in his or her work and can perform various customer service duties as required throughout the day. We need a professional mechanic with a flexible schedule and a willingness to work overtime when needed.
Auto Mechanic Responsibilities:
Communicate with customers on a regular basis.
Diagnose vehicles based on observational and mechanical testing as well as information provided by the customer
Provide customers with detailed estimates for repairs and replacements and obtain signature approval prior to commencing work
Repair vehicles based on the diagnosed issues and repair estimate
Test drive vehicles after repairs are complete to ensure mechanical soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist
Describe vehicles condition to customer and answer any follow-up questions
File appropriate documentation on each repair
Must have at least basic tools to perform most repairs
Auto Mechanic Skills
ASE certification preferred but not required
3+ years of automotive repair experience. However, willing to work with the right person
Valid drivers license
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct all repairs
Ability to operate diagnostic tools required
Ability to use shop software, invoice customers and sell services when needed. Again, for the right person, training is available.
