Chef de Tournant/Roundsman

The premiere Anderson Valley restaurant, The Bewildered Pig, is seeking to add a cornerstone culinary position to its team: Chef de Tournant (Roundsman) full and/or part time, DOE. Experience desired: production prep, garde manger, complex hot line, meat/fish fabrication; minimal pastry. The ideal candidate is one whom possesses high energy, attention to detail, and passion for food. We are a mis en place driven kitchen: small, organized and productive. Our mission is excellence, and we serve only the finest, locally sourced ingredients.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in all areas of the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to effectively communicate with Garde Manger/Chef de Cuisine & the Executive Chef.

• Ability to understand/articulate our menu and abide by our philosophy

• Possess a strong passion for food, wine and professional service

• Able to handle stressful situations and maintain calmness and organization

• Team player; works well with others

• Must be able to multitask, remain focused and organized in high stress/volume environment

• Must be timely, punctual and have a great attendance history

• Must be able to understand, remember and perform all daily duties

• Must be organized, “mis en place” oriented, clean

• Current Food Safety/Handlers Card

• Must be reasonably flexible and available during peak season months (May-end of November), including holidays.

Physical/Mental Requirements

• Able to stand on feet for 8 hours or more

• Able to lift 40 lbs.

• Able to comprehend and retain all company requirements and perform all required duties
