Located in the heart of the Redwoods of Northern California, the Benbow Valley is nestled among the hills with the Eel River running through. The most prominent features of this little valley are the Benbow Historic Inn and the Benbow KOA Resort & Golf Course . The Inn is a 65 room historic building with a restaurant and lounge. The Benbow KOAResort & Golf is a 110 site RV park with a 9-hole golf course.

The Benbow Historic Inn is seeking an outstanding Front Desk Agent / Bellman candidate to represent the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest's stay.

Determines a guest's reservation status and identifies how long the guest will stay. Helps guests complete registration cards and then assigns rooms, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Verifies the guest's method of payment and follows established check-in procedures. Works closely with the housekeeping department in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work. Maintains guest room key storage. Must be sales-minded.

Presents options and alternatives to guests and offers assistance in making choices. Knows the location and types of available rooms as well as the activities and services of the property. Performs cashiering tasks like bill / invoice settlement, posting charges to the guest, and paid out's.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrated customer service skills

• Strong computer skills

• Ability to multi-task

Bellman Duties:

• Greet guests and help them with their bags from their car to their rooms

• Answer calls from guests in rooms and deliver requests (i.e. ice or linens)

• Keep lobby neat and clean and help guests as needed

• Do light maintenance as needed (i.e. change light bulbs, plunge toilets, etc.)

• Distribute boxes from point of delivery to other departments

• Help answer phones and fill in at the front desk as needed

• Perform a wide variety of duties as assigned by all departments

Qualifications:

• Must be able to lift heavy luggage and boxes and carry them up stairs

• There is no elevator and a lot of stairs, must be able to go up and down multiple flights of stairs

• MUST be a people person - you will interact with guests constantly

• Be capable of multitasking and prioritizing

• Good telephone etiquette

• Have exemplary hygiene (uniform is required - black pants, white shirt, tie, black shoes & socks) (Inn provides a vest)
