Located in the heart of the Redwoods of Northern California, the Benbow Valley is nestled among the hills with the Eel River running through. The most prominent features of this little valley are the Benbow Historic Inn and the Benbow KOA Resort & Golf Course. The Inn is a 65 room historic building with a restaurant and lounge. The Benbow KOA Resort & Golf Course is a 110 site RV park with a 9-hole golf course.

The Benbow Historic Inn is seeking an outstanding Houseperson candidate to represent the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest's stay.

OVERVIEW:

The Houseperson is responsible for assisting the room attendants with their daily tasks by cleaning and stocking closets, delivering clean linens to rooms and inventory of the honor bar items. Individual will perform janitorial functions such as carpet cleaning for public spaces. In addition this position is required to help and be able to assist other departments as needed and to follow company policies and procedures. The essential job functions are listed below, but may include duties which are outside of these job functions which are required to meet the need of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clean, set up, and wax all floor surface areas.

Clean and/or shampoo carpet and upholstery.

Set up, operate, and breakdown all cleaning equipment.

Clean and/or polish brass, mirrors, glass, light fixtures, and chandeliers.

Clean all walls and ceilings and report repairs needed.

Clean and empty linen and trash containers.

Monitor inventory and deliver all HK supplies.

Receive and distribute linen, load dirty linen, keep track of new and used linen.

Report repairs needed.

Perform and/or assist with other cleaning and delivery duties and responsibilities as needed.

Assist with bellman duties.

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

One year of related experience preferred.

Must have knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products and procedures.
