Innkeeper and Server at the Inn at Newport Ranch
The Inn at Newport Ranch is a luxury inn, located on a 2100 acre coastal timber preserve on the rugged Mendocino coast. Our unique venue features 11 accommodations as well as daily meal services to our guests (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
We are seeking qualified candidates to join our service and hospitality team — Team is the key word here.
Expected responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to —
Providing personable service with warmth and attention to detail
Assisting guests with check-in, check-out and processing reservation payments.
Taking reservations using cloud-based property management software.
Preparing rooms for check-in and ensuring we are meeting standards of quality and excellence in our services and presentation
Answering the telephone and responding to guest services emails.
Using Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications for various tasks.
Being knowledgable about our services and property, as well as the local area
Recommending and assisting guests with planning activities during their stay
Detailed oriented meal service and knowledge of daily menus
Becoming knowledgable about our food and beverage program and ready to confidently discuss menus with our guests and promote sales
Familiarity of wine and spirits list, become comfortable with proper wine service
Clearly communicating with other staff members
Willingness to learn new skills, be a team player, and lend a hand where needed
Attendance at service trainings and wine tastings
Cleaning and polishing glassware, service ware, dishes and tables
Desired Qualifications —
- 2 + years hospitality / food and beverage service experience
- Professional communication skills on phone, email and in-person interactions
- Mature attitude with a passion for hospitality and service
- Basic computer skills
- Reliable transportation
- Dependable and timely
- Must be 21 years of age or older to bartend
Position Detail and Benefits —
- Part-Time (20 - 30 hours per week) initially, growing to full time with experience and positive attitude
- Staff meal and beverage per shift
- Access to hiking trails (over 25 miles)and use of our 2100 acre property
