Under general supervision, enforces state laws and county ordinances pertaining to the control and licensing of animals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED; and,
A minimum of one (1) year of journey-level responsible related experience equivalent to Animal Control Officer with Mendocino County when possessing a valid Basic State (CA) Humane Officer Academy certificate; or,
A minimum of three (3) years of journey-level responsible related experience equivalent to Animal Control Officer with Mendocino County and ability to obtain a valid Basic State (CA) Humane Officer Academy certificate within one (1) year of appointment.
Upon recommendation of the Appointing Authority, Animal Control Officer in Training incumbents may be promoted to Animal Control Officer upon the completion of the Basic State (CA) Human Officer Academy, PC832 and field training program.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Driver's License.
Completion of Basic California State Humane Officer Academy (within one [1] year of appointment).
Completion of Penal Code 832 Training (within one [1] year of appointment).
