The County of Sonoma Department of Health Services is seeking qualified candidates to fill one full-time Healthcare Information Privacy and Security Analyst vacancy within the Administration Unit. Reporting to the Healthcare Privacy and Security Officer, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the DHS Healthcare Information Privacy and Security Program, oversight of the Public Records Act function, and oversight of subpoena processing. This position supervises one Administrative Aide who is responsible for day-to-day handling of Public Records Act requests and subpoenas that are received in DHS.The ideal candidate for this position will possess:Experience working as a healthcare privacy and/or health information security professional
Either a Certification in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), a Certification in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS), or be a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
Knowledge of state and federal healthcare privacy and security laws
Excellent writing skills including policy, audit reports, and training
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that foster cooperative complianceTypical duties performed by this position include:Developing and implementing privacy and security related policies and procedures
Overseeing and performing privacy and security audits
Developing and overseeing employee training programs
Providing guidance and support to management and staff about use and disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI)
Investigating and managing privacy and security incidents and breaches of protected information
Representing the Privacy & Security Program on privacy and compliance committees
Supervising staff that process subpoenas and requests for public records
