Sonoma County's Human Services Department (HSD) seeks highly qualified candidates to fill multiple fluent bilingual Human Services Aide I positions in their Economic Assistance and Employment & Training Divisions.

A cash allowance of approximately $600 per month
An annual Staff Development/Wellness Benefit allowance up to $500
Eligibility for a 5% salary increase after 1040 hours (approximately 6 months when working full-time) for good work performance; eligibility for a 5% salary increase every year thereafter for good work performance, until reaching the top of the salary range
With experience and good work performance, automatic career advancement to Human Services Aide II

Being a Human Services Aide I
These positions will provide routine, non-technical assistance and supportive services to clients and staff, and act as liaisons between professional staff, disadvantaged individuals, and groups in the community. Typical duties include:
Greeting clients and assisting them with questions, as well as the completion of forms and applications
Evaluating client service needs; providing information and guidance regarding various services and resources
Scheduling clients for meetings, workshops, and/or trainings
Entering client information into databases and spreadsheets; generating receipts and reports
Translating documents and conversations
Fluent (reading, writing, and conversational) Spanish ability is required for these positions. Applicants who do not indicate they possess this skill will not be considered for this recruitment. A bilingual examination will be conducted prior to employment to confirm level of skill. The bilingual premium pay begins upon the assignment of bilingual work. Bilingual premium pay is an additional $1.15 cents per hour on top of the hourly pay rate.
