The Human Services Department (HSD) seeks experienced Social Workers looking for a rewarding career opportunity.

Starting salary up to $37.10/hr. ($77,432.15/yr.)

Plus, a cash allowance of approximately $600/Mo.

The Human Services Department is currently recruiting to fill one full-time, time-limited Social Service Worker III (SSW III) position in the Employment & Training division. This time-limited position is currently funded through June 30, 2023. Human Services is also recruiting to fill one full-time SSW III position in the Adult & Aging division. Adult & Aging has requested a department promotionalcertification to fill their vacancy. Only qualified permanent and/or probationary HSD employees on the employment list may be eligible for referral to the department for the Adult & Aging position.

The Social Service Worker III in Employment & Training will work in the Housing and Disability Advocacy Program (HDAP) and assist homeless individuals and veterans with disabilities in finding and maintaining housing while they apply for disability benefits. The position is responsible for providing outreach, assessment, case management, and additional wrap-around supportive services that are an essential part of housing retention and stability. As a member of the Interdepartmental Multi-Disciplinary Team (IMDT) through ACCESS Sonoma, this position works collaboratively with other departments and community organizations to assist mutual clients. Additional responsibilities include:Interviewing homeless clients in crisis situations involving social, emotional, financial, medical, or marital problems in order to assist with services

Assessing, evaluating, and providing wrap-around support to clients referred to HDAP, which may require psychological and health assessments and regular follow-up

Preparing treatment plans and outlining courses of action

Ensuring clients are connected with mental health, substance abuse, and domestic abuse services

Providing information to clients about resources within the agency and in the community, and assist clients in selecting and using appropriate resources

Interpreting and explaining rules, regulations, and departmental policies relative to programs and servicesThe ideal candidate will possess:Experience working with complex caseloads and the ability to manage competing priorities

Familiarity with safety-net and social service programs

Experience working with clients facing the challenges of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, poverty, and/or other significant barriers

Strong interview, assessment, and writing skillsWhat We Offer
