JOB SUMMARY
To provide emergency medical services to the sick and injured and to provide non-emergent ambulance transport as requested. The Emergency Manager administers and manages all aspects of Southern Trinity Area Rescue's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program and performs the highest level of program analysis and management. This position is responsible for daily billing and coding, scheduling for ambulance operations and training, Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) process, and general EMS operational oversight. Supportive of Southern Trinity Health Services' mission and values. Completes training as required by policy. Gives work direction to both employed and volunteer Paramedic and EMT associates.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
⢠Maintains California Paramedic Licensure as well as ACLS certification. Provides basic and advanced life
support according to protocols. Provides ambulance transport. Fills in on regular shifts when other staffing
cannot be found.
⢠Maintains instructor credentials for EMS. Maintains monthly CEU training schedule, as well as individual
training records. Maintains training entity records.
⢠Assures that station and medical supplies are ordered. Assists crews with restocking. Facilitates station
maintenance. Facilitates vehicle maintenance.
⢠Schedules, trains, and orients EMTs and paramedics. Assists in the selection process of new EMS associates.
⢠Knowledge of Southern Trinity County and Eastern Humboldt County geography preferred.
The responsibilities described above represent some the primary responsibilities of the job. The incumbent is
expected to perform all assigned responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
⢠At least three years of progressively responsible emergency management and/or emergency medical services
experience, including project management.
⢠Candidate does not necessarily need technical expertise in all program areas, but incumbent must be able to
come up to speed quickly in order to understand responsibilities, be a resource to staff and maintain a good
general knowledge of technical systems.
Education:
⢠This position requires the level of education typically acquired by a course of study leading to a high school
diploma or GED.
Licenses/Certifications:
⢠State of California EMTP, ACLS, BCLS Certifications required.
⢠California Class E driver's license or equivalent required
