JOB SUMMARY

The Mental Health Provider reports to the Regional Director and is responsible for the coordination and development of all life skill interventions of the group home program.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ability to effectively communicate and be flexible enough to deal with noise, frequent interruptions, and constant changes in behaviors.

2. Ability to work within a team forum and be a team participant within the treatment team process.

3. Assist in the training and modeling of direct care staff as it pertains to the treatment goals developed within the Individual Support Plan.

4. Ability to flex daily schedule and priorities workload to effectively support the individuals (staff or client) within the various residential facilities.

5. Ability to proficiently pass the Pro-Act training and implement the skills taught when formulating the treatment goals.

6. Works directly with the families to assist and support in the treatment goals based on the Individualized Program Plan.

7. Provides direct supports to the individual who will assist to achieve socialization and self-regulation based on the goals.

8. Must be flexible with schedule and weekend work may be required based on family visitation and behavioral challenges.

9. Assist in the development of interventions and program documentation for the group homes in Mendocino and Lake Counties.

10. Within the first year of hire, pass the DSP year one challenge exam and within the second year of hire pass the DSP year two challenge exam. If the exam is not completed, the 40-hour class must be taken for each exam under the approval of the Deputy Regional Director.

11. Will drive on Agency business and transport clients as needed.

12. Will drive to programs throughout Mendocino and Lake Counties.

13. Screen, evaluate, and coordinate any potential referrals, and be prepared to support the treatment team in admitting children into the program.

14. Provide assessment and counseling support to clients both individually and group.

15. Enter significant information related to the treatment with each client and produce copies for review to your supervisor on a weekly basis.

16. Attend relevant meetings associated with the therapeutic aspect of the client, upon request of the Deputy Regional Director.

17. Produce weekly reports transparently showing the success and outcomes of interventions.

18. Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.

19. Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others.

20. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at Turning Point. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Employees also are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours are disruptive and must be avoided

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor's degree in social work or counseling, or a related field and at least three (3) years' experience providing direct social services to children with intellectual disabilities; OR a Master's degree in social work or counseling, or a related field and at least one (1) year experience providing direct social services to children with intellectual disabilities.

2. Must meet the minimum age of 21 pursuant to California Health & Safety Code Section 1562.

3. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

4. Ability to operate within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

5. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.

6. Ability to pass a criminal background check.

7. Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.

8. Must maintain good relationships with consumers, co-workers, government and civic representatives, as well as community members within whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
