MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AS OUTLIINED:
Responsible for fabricating and assembling structural metal products using various equipment including welders, shears, grinders, iron worker, plasma cutter ect.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, understanding and comprehension of part plans/blueprints and procedures related to metal fabrication and welding.
Performs a variety of tasks using jigs, tools and equipment such as sanders, welders, drill press, iron worker, and other fabrication equipment, etc.
SUPPORTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES AS OUTLIINED:
Safety awareness and reporting.
Task time recording for every fabricated assemblies (when requested)
Maintain a defined stock level of components necessary for fabricating assemblies.
Establish and maintain procedures for every process you do.
Perform repairs required by other departments that require your skills.
Fabricate items needed for production by other department such as jigs, tables, brackets, hangers, ect.
Fabrication of prototype components and assemblies as required.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Keep the fabrication shop clean and tidy at all times.
Maintain organization of tools and parts to maximize efficiency.
Be proactive and positive, planning for the future with a good attitude.
Responsible for special maintenance and upkeep of all equipment in the fabrication department, Plasma water table, metal muncher, ect.
Maintain inventory of gas bottles for fabrication and forklift.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES & TASKS
Welding of assemblies using GMAW welding process. (carbon steel, stainless steel , and aluminum)
Welding of components using GTAW welding process. (carbon steel, stainless steel , and aluminum)
Using CNC plasma cutter to produce various parts.
Using acetylene torch to cut and form metal.
Properly document fabricated assemblies (special components, changed dimensions, print discrepancies, notes, ect.)
Sweep area daily; break down all cardboard and packaging in your area daily.
Communicate with the production manager frequently about production needs.
Meet the deadlines required by assembly department while maximizing runs for efficiency whenever possible.
Always keep quality in mind. All assemblies are expected to look professional and new or be completely ready for the next stage of production.
Maintain tools and keep them in their spot. Do not take tools from any other department, If you need a tool, tell the plant manager and one will be bought for you. (wrap up all cords, wipe off dirty tools and put them in their home every night)
Dress appropriately and professional for your job, where the appropriate safety equipment whenever necessary
Work carefully to not damage any parts by mishandling them. Any part with a seal surface must be placed on cardboard.
Be diligent and aware of what you are doing; if something does not look right have it inspected by another set of eyes.
