Summary
Responsible for delivering bulk propane and providing customer service, maintaining professional image and sales as part of the company team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Operate various types of delivery trucks and vehicles safely and efficiently. Operate other kinds of equipment such as boom trucks as required
Satisfy customer as number one goal.
Maintain high standards of courtesy and respect for all customers and fellow employees.
Maintain high company image standards for self and vehicle. Personal appearance must be neat and well groomed.
Arrange for routine truck maintenance and repair.
Prepare customer invoices, cargo documents, and other paperwork completely, accurately, and legibly to assure product quality.
Have a basic understanding of propane service work.
Skills and Qualifications Required
Must have a current CDL with hazardous material, tanker, and airbrake endorsements or the ability to obtain.
Must pass a drug test, reference check, background check and motor vehicle records check before hire when driving hazardous materials.
Must have a basic knowledge of and comply with all D.O.T. industry and company safety regulations.
Must have the ability to read and analyze general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government rules and regulations.
Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, and volume.
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge and experience in the propane industry.
Experience and understanding of propane bobtail delivery system.
Effective customer service skills.
Some computer experience.
Propane service/repair experience.
Physical Demands
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to pull hose over adverse ground conditions.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions. (cold, hot, wet, etc.)
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
Regular Work Schedule
Normal business hours Monday to Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm
Ability to be on call evenings and weekends
Additional hours as required to meet customer needs.
