Mendocino Wine Company and Parducci Wine Cellars, a family owned winery located in Ukiah, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years facility maintenance experience. This position supports our Facilities Manager, assisting with all maintenance and repair needs at our Ukiah wine production facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists in the repair and/or installation of various items, systems and/or components as required (e.g. broken windows, roofs, building structures, floors, hand rails, stairs, lighting systems, plumbing/sewer systems, metal fabrication, etc.) to ensure that items are available and in safe working condition at all times

• Operates various types of tools and equipment including a variety of man-lifts (will be required to obtain an operator's certification for each type of equipment)

• Assists grounds and maintenance personnel as needed

• Assists with painting tasks as directed for the purpose of maintaining attractive facilities and minimizing wear and tear

• Cleans and performs minor repairs of gutters, drains and scuppers to ensure proper operation and adequate drainage

• Installs system component parts, office equipment and facility components as required to provide safe and comfortable operating conditions

• Assists the Facilities Maintenance Manager with required Federal and State reporting, safety programs, and permitting process

• Maintains tools and/or equipment to guarantee the availability of equipment in a safe operating condition

• Assists the Facilities Maintenance Manager with purchasing of equipment and supplies to maintain facilities inventory

• Responds to emergency situations to assist in resolving immediate safety concerns

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or certificate and two (2) years of experience in facilities maintenance required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to read, write and converse in fluent English required, bilingual Spanish preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math skills required.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Must be able to climb and stand on ladders. Must not have a fear of heights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near motorized equipment and may be exposed to hot and/or cold work environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

A valid California Driver's License and clean DMV record is required.

Regular work hours are Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. Extended work days and hours are required during the harvest season (August through November). Occasional call-ins required for emergency repairs.

This position requires the ability to be a team player who is also able to act independently with a minimum amount of supervision. The ability to be solution oriented with excellent follow through skills is essential in this position.
