Content Specialist, Education Modernization

•We are hiring a Content Specialist to join our growing marketing team. This role will serve as the eyes, ears, and megaphone for the Education Modernization (EdMod) team at Client. EdMod co-designs programs and products to support K-12 communities facing layers of inequity. We work to expand access to educational opportunities, often with a focus on computer science and STEM. This role will develop content that is inclusive, culturally responsive, and resonant with our education community.
•As our marketing team evolves, we are seeking someone who can push our content to the next level. With messaging guides in hand, we will look to you to craft our narrative and ensure clear calls to action for our audiences (educators, school administrators, students and parents). Messaging must reflect the diverse perspectives and lived experiences of our community. While each of our programs and products are unique, we are seeking someone who can unify our brand around a common mission and message.
•Are you a creative problem solver who is passionate about storytelling and crafting authentic content? Do you enjoy hands-on writing for a variety of marketing channels? This role will champion our mission across social media, email marketing, website, video, internal communications, and more. We are seeking someone who can consistently thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing deadlines, and produce quality content.
Responsibilities:
•Apply consistent standards across our content to ensure high quality, inclusive, and culturally responsive language.
•Design and manage an editorial calendar. Track and hit deadlines.
•Oversee editorial strategy and voice for multiple audiences across various channels.
•Develop and execute written communications including, but not limited to, email marketing copy, web content, talking points, and social media posts from concept to completion with limited oversight.
•Review and edit communications produced by Program Managers to ensure consistency and alignment with overall marketing and program goals.
•Work collaboratively with Program Managers, Design, Engineering, and Evaluation teams to establish and refine content that best supports our education community.
Qualifications:
•3-5 years of experience in content development, writing, journalism and/or related fields.
•Experience writing in the nonprofit and/or education industry.
•Professional or native Spanish-speaking fluency (preferred) Experience multitasking on projects across teams and turning insights into action.
•Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple deadlines.
•Meticulous attention to detail and strong proofreading/editing skills.
•Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) principles. Writing samples should reflect this.
•Some project management experience preferred.
