California Psychiatric Transitions (CPT)
is a fully licensed 98 bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center located on seven and a half acres in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. CPT is looking for intelligent, caring, competent personnel who are capable of providing Care, Safety, Security, and Welfare for mentally ill residents.
We are currently looking to hire full time Mental Health Workers (MHW's).
The Mental Health Worker position has the most direct client contact at our facility. MHW's make up the largest department. MHW's work 4 ten hour shifts weekly (including at least one mandatory weekend day per week).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Provide supervision of mentally ill clients
Ensure client safety
Conduct and participate in activity and program groups
Assist in socialization and community integration groups/activities.
Counsel residents on appropriate hygiene and room care
Document resident behavior
Attend in-service trainings as designated or required
Will be expected to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, lift, carry and walk swiftly or run
QUALIFICATIONS:
All rehabilitation staff shall have graduated from high-school or possess a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
AND/OR:
60 college semester units.
(Desirable - 15 semester units in behavioral sciences)
SKILLS:
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, grammar, and being able to speak and write to convey information effectively.
Social Perceptiveness: Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
Monitoring: Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
