Clauss Dairy is a multi-generational family dairy farming operation located in Hilmar California. Between two facilities, we milk approximately 3200 cows and all the milk is used for cheese production. The Clauss family has a history of caring for their cows and strives to keep them comfortable and healthy. The family also believes it is their responsibility to care for the Land, Air and Water, and protect them for future generations to come.
Currently we are farming over 800 irrigated acres of land between the two dairy facilities. The Clauss family is eager to find a team player who enjoys working in a safe, drug free environment and help carry on the family's values started many years ago.
Job Title: Irrigator/Outside Laborer
Primary Purpose:
Safely perform irrigation applications to field crops and perform other outside labor tasks required by the operation.
Qualifications:
At least 1 year flood irrigating experience preferred, but not required
Must have a valid Driver's License
Clean DMV Printout
Clean Drug Test
Applicants must pass an employment physical
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Must be a team player and willing to take on new assignments
Spanish speaking is a positive, but not required
Must be self motivated and attentive to detail
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Irrigating
Must be able to time irrigations and coordinate changes with supervisor
Must be able to work erratic hours and be on call for weekends and nights
Safety
Operate tools, equipment and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor
immediately
Driving
Operate a company vehicle as needed
Keep a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Inventory and Equipment
Keep equipment and tools in safe operating condition
Maintain appearance of equipment, shop and parking lot area
Other
Maintain an accurate time card
Equipment used:
Small hand tools, drills, drill press, grinder, air-powered tools, torch, jack, and lift equipment.
A qualified candidate would be willing to work 50 + hours a week, and be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, and be clean and organized.
