JOB SUMMARY
This includes but not limited to driving a truck requiring a current Class A license. May operate packaging machines, sorting lines and containers. Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Drive forklift responsibly to move product, bins, and packaged goods in a safe and efficient manner. May use a tow motor, clamp forklift, straight forklift, label lift or floor jack in both warehouse and production environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
⢠Drive truck to move product between facilities or other locations
⢠Start and stop equipment
⢠Operation of industrial truck or electric hoist for loading, unloading, storage, and/or movement of all materials to and from warehouse and/or production areas
⢠Completion of daily forklift inspections and maintenance logs.
⢠Assist in clean up/production area as needed
⢠Load and unload items from machines, carts and dollies
⢠Feed or place bins on equipment from processing
⢠Separate defective product in correct disposal area
⢠Inform supervisors of damaged or ineffective equipment in the plant
⢠Load and unload processing equipment
⢠Support, participate and enforce GDN safety policies and procedures
⢠Involve daily communication with Production Managers, Leads, Supervisors and all employees
⢠Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
⢠All forklift drivers are expected to be available to work in all areas of plant
⢠Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
⢠Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
⢠Follows and ensures adherence to established Grower Direct Nut Co., local, state, and federal regulations and requirements as well as food safety, sanitation, food production and nutritional guidelines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
ï¶ Physical demands
o Will frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, taste and smell.
o Will seldom sit and occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.
o Must use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously.
o Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
o Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 50 pounds frequently.
o Must lift with arms up to floor to waist, waist to shoulder 50 pounds.
o Must be able to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend, up to 12 hrs.
o Ability to strenuous flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently (15 flexion/minute).
ï¶ Work environment
o Will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
o Will Work around wet or humid conditions, in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, risk of vibration.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
1. Valid Class A license required.
2. Ability to work as part of a team
3. Ability to speak, read and write English
4. Ability to perform basic math functions
5. Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
6. At least 1 year of forklift driving experience and material handler, prior certifications preferred.
7. Positive attitude, high energy, flexibility and personal initiative
8. Fumigation experience a plus
