RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a RTL Engineer IV in Milpitas, CA.
Responsibilities:
You are responsible for providing technical expertise in all facets of RTL development, from microarchitecture through sustenance
RTL design and implementation, but some IP integration needed
You will work with architects and system engineers to define requirements and interfaces between system components for a complex FPGA systems based on Xilinx FPGA
You will independently design, document, develop, and verify the RTL microarchitecture and IPs
Additionally you will work with a cross-functional team to bring up the system and perform FA and debug of issues found on real hardware
You will also participate in documentation and defining and implementing process for various stages of the development
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical degree is required
8-10 years of experience w/FPGA RTL design preferable on FPGA product
Minimum 6+ years of experience in RTL Engineering/Design
Transceiver experience is desired
Must be hands-on when it comes to RTL Coding and simulation (must be comfortable with RTL design)
Must be motivated, self-driven, and a strong Team player
Understand system architecture, IP design, document, propose and develop Micro-architecture for FPGA
Create or customize IP designs. Defining FPGA IO interface, IO constraints, FPGA timing optimization, logic optimization
Define FPGA RTL design milestones and conduct review meeting with wider teams for RTL deliveries
Defining streamlined FPGA build flow with nightly builds
Conduct and review different parts of the design including system level design
Hands-on experience with Xilinx transceivers (GTH/GTY) and IP development associated is desired
Ability to communicate effectively with other groups such as Architecture group, ASIC design, FPGA HW design group, Firmware team, program management
Desired Skills/Experience:
Hands-on experience in bring-up and debugging is desired
Experience creating and testing Application specific Zynq or Arria FPGA system
Experience working with FPGA development platforms is a definite plus
Practical experience in hardware debug - use of test equipment (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Chipscope etc.)
Basic software development experience using C and/or Linux (Perl/Shell scripting) is a plus
