We are a privately owned leading Managed IT Services company. Since 1996 we have specialized in providing a full range of services from Network & Security, UNIX/Linux & Windows Engineering, System & Database Administration, Help Desk Support, VoIP Support, and maintenance of IT infrastructures for our clients, which are primarily made up of small- to medium-sized enterprises.

What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate for the Systems Technical Team Manager position is seasoned professional with a strong proven technical background, extensive experience managing and leading a team, and experience working for a professional services organization that provides managed services to a diverse group of clients within varying technical environments. Experience heading a division within an organization that is made up of Systems Engineers and Administrators as well as other technical support staff is strongly preferred.

About this position:
This position will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Milpitas, CA, and its primary responsibilities fall into three categories:
  • Systems Team Management
  • Administrative Compliance
  • Hands-on Technical Responsibilities
You will work directly with members of ICE Consulting’s leadership team, other management and supervisory team members, our clients to determine each client’s needs, establish deliverables and timelines for your team, and ensure your timely and accurate completion of such deliverables.
You should have a level of technical knowledge and experience that enables you to oversee our company’s hardware, software, and computer networks while also monitoring network infrastructure and resolving system issues as they arise.
Major keys to success in this position will be leadership ability, technical knowledge, time management skills, organization, and the ability to work on multiple projects at once.

  • Performance Assessment

  • Maintain and optimize local company networks and servers
  • Oversee data backup and system security operations (e.g. – user authorization, firewalls, etc.)
  • Manage installations, upgrades, and configurations of hardware and software
  • Manage and assign team schedule
  • Assess system performance and recommend improvements
  • Resolve issues escalated by your technical team members
  • Ensure data is handled, transferred, and/or processed according to legal and company guidelines
  • Provide support and guidance to stakeholders via help desk
  • Control costs and budgets related to IT systems
  • Manage contracts with vendors (e.g. – development platforms, telecommunication companies, password managers, etc.) and software licenses
  • Manage information technology and computer systems
  • Plan, organize, control, and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
  • Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance
  • Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in a timely manner
  • Conduct regular audits of Systems Team practices to ensure efficiency

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three years managing a team
  • Experience with system installation, configuration, and analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of networks and cloud computing
  • Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (e.g., GDPR)
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS services
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of installing, configuring, and maintaining VMWare infrastructure
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of configuration and maintenance of enterprise storage such as NetApp or alike
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of installing, configuring, and maintaining Veeam backup software
  • A full understanding of Microsoft 365 and G Suite administration and experience supporting complex environments
  • In-depth knowledge related to the Office 365 applications and features including Azure Directory
  • Experience with SSO/MFA integration between Office 365, G Suite, Box, and other major cloud service providers
  • Experience with MDM solution such as Workspace One is a plus
  • Windows Power-shell experience related to Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and Exchange Server
  • Experience implementing and supporting Office 365 in medium-sized environments
  • Strong knowledge related to email security and security practices in general
  • Exposure of supporting systems on AWS and AWS backup
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, IT, or relevant field
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and computer hardware/software systems
