POSITION: PURCHASING SUPERVISOR

LOCATION: SALINAS, CA & IMPERIAL/YUMA VALLEY

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The primary responsibility of the Purchasing Supervisor is to lead, direct and coordinate activities. The Purchasing Supervisor will actively seek improvement to the supply chain in the areas of quality, cost and delivery through negotiating and developing effective strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide supervision to Church Brothers packing yards by leading, training and coordinating the local procurement team that includes yard forklift drivers and coordinators.

Act as liaison between Sales, Marketing, Harvest operations to determine project priorities and timelines.

Produce and maintain weekly purchase activity reports and other special packaging reports.

Assist in developing processes and policies to meet our customer and industry requirements for packaging quality.

Supervise procurement of packaging materials such as boxes, bags, harvest supplies, etc. leveraging Companys strengths and competitive pricing to purchase items at the best possible value.

Manage material inventory including system setup, reporting, receiving verification, Bill of Materials (BOM), cycle counting, usage and shrink measurement.

Ensure process completion of all vendor transactions for timely accounting of all vendor payments and credits.

Responsible for executing the day-to-day purchasing from vendor selection through receipt and inspection of products.

Create and process purchase orders.

Timely maintenance of purchase data.

Align delivery of supplies, materials, equipment, and services.

Responds to internal stakeholder inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.

Daily managing of PPV, forecasting and reporting of PPV for weekly / monthly financial reviews.

Provide purchasing support to all department as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 years experience in purchasing, accounting areas, and working with (BOMs).

Experience in production planning & packaging required

High School Diploma required, Degree preferred but not required

Proficient in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Famous, and accounting and invoicing

Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must be able to travel 50% of the time and willing to relocate to our various harvesting and processing areas (Salinas, CA; Holtville, CA; & Yuma, AZ locations as required)

Solid decision making skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to succinctly communicate metrics, results and strategies to all levels of leadership

Proven ability to get results through negotiation
