Del Rey Oaks Gardens is offering a dynamic, full-time employment opportunity to the right candidate. We are a local, family-owned business seeking applicants who are motivated, energetic team players with a positive attitude, with the ability to provide outstanding service to our customers and work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates will also have a strong motivation for creative, challenging work. Horticultural experience is a plus, but is not required to apply for this position.
Responsibilities are varied and include sales activities, cultivating plant material onsite, undertaking a variety of onsite and offsite projects, and marketing, to name a few.
There are opportunities to move laterally to different departments within the company (landscape, wholesale nursery operations, etc.) in addition to the potential to move up to management. Bilingual applicants are welcome!

-Starting wage of $14/hr at 40 hours/week

General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Provide exemplary customer service by anticipating customer needs, attentive service, and finding solutions to meet customer needs
-Educate customers on the variety of products we sell (including plants, natural stone, concrete products, bulk materials, soils and soil amendments, etc.) and advise on project requirements
-Self-manage time in order to complete required plant care tasks (fertilizing, pruning, watering, moving/transferring plant material) and projects
-Work in loading dock to offload trucks, receive materials, and load customers' purchases
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of garden, equipment, and all other outdoor areas
-Prepare sales, invoices, and estimates using a Point of Sale (POS) terminal
-Complete financial paperwork and reporting processes, including deposits, close-outs, and customer statements
-Prepare merchandising materials/signage and ensure proper display of all products and signage
This job requires:
-Ability to move and lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis
-Ability to perform repetitive motions, including bending and twisting
-Ability to stand for entire duration of shift, minus breaks/lunch
-Ability to work on a team and communicate effectively with coworkers, vendors, and customers
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under high pressure for extended period of time
-Ability to use technology and computers (word processing, Excel/Google sheets, email, basic computer troubleshooting)
-Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet sales/performance goals
-Ability to multi-task and complete tasks quickly and efficiently
-Ability to work weekends and any shifts required, overtime if requested
